As part of the State of Design, Melbourne’s Moth Design and Bigger Than Ten Bears (Event Design and Management) put together a fantastic event on Sunday 19th of July – This Is Not A Design Market.
This Is Not A Design Market was extremely successful (more so than Design Made Trade, there were several of the same exhibitors at both) and was held in an old non-ferrous metal working factory at 500 Latrobe Street. The only criticism I have of the event was that they removed some of the amazing graffiti artworks and installations from the building in order to clean it up. The space, now known as The Factory is available for the coming nine months for all manner of creative events.
The Design Droplets team (Myself, Julian and our new camera man Dave) headed down to document the event and film the inaugural Design Droplets Vodcast, which will be a monthly feature. While we wait for Dave to complete post-production of the film, below are some photos from the event for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy. (Click images to view full size.)

Cool. I will scour these pics for any evidence of my presence.

In the meantime, you might wish to do likewise with mine: http://mikepickard.posterous.com/this-is-not-a-design-market
Don’t worry, we documented all the grafitti before it got painted over… It was so sad to see it go – but it had been pretty badly tagged and wrecked over the last couple of years since it was done.
Hope to see you at the next one! kate and the moths x
