When I picked up It’s not how good you are, it’s how good you want to be by Paul Arden, I picked it up for two reasons.
1. The title
2. The fact that it says on the cover “The world’s best selling book”. Which started me wondering what was contained in the world’s greatest book, which led to me having to read it.
It’s not how good you are, It’s how good you want to be is a great read if you are looking for something that you can dip in and out of, at any page without really worrying about which page it is. The short one to two page rambles and quotations on everything from knowing your clients aims to ideas on how to make your business card sound more professional/impressive, are great for a bit of inspiration every once in a while. Although much of the advice in the book comes from the advertising realm, its relevant to any one who is designing or running a business (design droplets advice: Each time you see the word advertising in the book, substitute it for design).
This is a book that you will read and re-read again and again, definitely add it to your collection when the opportunity arises.
It’s not how good you are, It’s how good you want to be is available from Amazon.
