Today is World Industrial Design Day.
Apart from our Industrial Design brothers and sisters in New Zealand, here in Australia we are some of the first in the world to be able to celebrate this fantastic day each year. Although this is only the second time we have been able to celebrate, as this year is the 2nd World Industrial Design Day that has been held since the ICSID inaugurated it last year.
The core idea behind World Industrial Design Day is that “designers and design enthusiasts are once again encouraged to mark the day by coordinating events within their region.”
This year “Icsid invites designers from around the globe to initiate events reflecting the theme of World Industrial Design Day 2009, ‘Industrial Design: the product of human creativity’.”
S0, Design Droplets encourages you (wherever you are in the world) to get on Twitter and tweet about Industrial Design: the product of human creativity as profusely as possible today. Also let us know how the events to mark World Industrial Design Day are going where you are by sharing in the comments.
Happy World Industrial Design Day 2009.
