THIS PRIZE DRAW & DESIGN GROUP WRITING PROJECT IS NOW FINISHED. See the results at Results of $1000+ Prize Giveaway & 1st Birthday Design Group Writing Project.
On the 15th of October Design Droplets will be one year old. This is extremely exciting for me and I hope you are also excited – especially since, as a big thank you to our fantastic readers we are holding a 1st Birthday Celebration Prize Giveaway in the form of a Group Design Writing Project. With $1000+ of prizes to be won.
Please read this article in its entirety before submitting anything.
Deadline for entry: 27th of October.
Winners Announced: 30th of October.
Write to Win!
In order to win one of the great prizes your task is a simple one – write a new post relating to the subject of industrial design or product design (there are also bonus entry options, so read on). Please DO NOT submit old articles you have written before the 29th of September 2009.
By “relating to the subject of industrial design or product design” I mean an informative article that contributes in someway to the profession. Maybe it gives advice, is a tutorial on how to do something, a list of resources or even just some general tips.
Even if you are not an Industrial Designer/Product Designer or not a designer at all you can still enter – try writing something that you believe a designer might find valuable.
For Example If you are a Graphic Designer it might be: ‘Useful Photoshop techniques for Industrial Designers’ OR if you are NOT A DESIGNER and specialise in another field like marketing it might be something like ‘10 ways to successfully market your Industrial Design business’.
Once you have written your new post relating to the subject of industrial design or product design, then follow the participation instructions outlined below for your chance to win (Take note: to be eligible to win one of the gifts from our extremely generous sponsors you MUST follow the guidelines below)

How to Participate
There will be only ONE prize per person, entries are per published article/post not per blog – so you can submit multiple articles. (there are also bonus entry options, so read on).
Don’t have a blog? Then we strongly encourage you to start one via these FREE and reliable blog services blogger.com or wordpress.com and connect with the online industrial design community.
Prizes will be drawn in a similar manner to our previous giveaway – using a random number generator – it’s not a competition that is being judged – it is a draw. Each article submitted is worth three entries into the draw (e.g.: 1 article = 3 entries, 2 articles = 6 entries and so on). The bonus ways of entering are coming up so keep on reading.
ARTICLES SUBMITTED MUST BE PUBLISHED AFTER TODAY (29th of September).
1. Write an article
- Get creative, take the article in any direction you want (but keep it clean and family friendly) – serious, rant, list post, video post, essay…almost any format is acceptable, we just need to be able to link to it.
2. Tell us about it
- Send us a direct link to the article (not your blogs front page) via the contact page. Include your name as you wish it to appear on the final article list.
- Submissions must be in the Design Droplets inbox by 12 AM (midnight) Australian Eastern Standard Time the 27th of October.
- If the article arrives after the 22nd then it will not be included on the final article list and will therefore not be in the running for any prizes.
3. Design Droplets will link to your article
After you let us know about your article, we’ll add a link to it at the bottom of this post. We will also link to your article on the Winners Announcement post on the 27th of October, even if you are not a winner.
4. Make Friends through giving some link love and Commenting.
As the articles are posted on this page, you should visit and read the submissions, leave comments on the articles and connect with other Industrial Designers and subscribers alike. In other words participate in the online industrial design community – which is what this is all about.
Since this is a Draw, not a competition there is no ‘judging’ as such. So make sure you visit and read the articles submitted – why should you do this? To find great new sites to read, make more online friends and strengthen the online design community.
